In his last parish he established a pastoral counselling team and was a member of the ACC Accreditation Committee for seven years. He completed four years of M. Phil. research with the University of Birmingham on the subject of 'The Spiritual Dimension in Counselling the Sexually Abused' before ill health forced him to withdraw. Following discussions at the first ACC National Conference, he convened The Dissociative Identity Disorder Working Group of interested counsellors and clinicians to write a report titled 'Working with Dissociative Disorders', which was submitted to the ACC Board at their request in January 1999. It was from this DID Group that TAG was formed. He was also a member of the Theology and Counselling Panel to support the Bishop of Worcester’s Diocesan Child Protection Officer and latterly was Chaplain to Acorn Christian Healing Foundation and licensed to the Bishop of Guildford as a Diocesan Healing Advisor.
